Jasmine Cephas Jones is a Emmy & Grammy-award winning Actress/Musician who was born in England and raised in New York. Delivering exceptional performance on Film, Television and Stage on Broadway. A talented 2nd generation performer and daughter of the late great Actor Ron Cephas Jones, she has created a range of diverse roles throughout her still relatively young career. she studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York and The Berklee College of Music in California. In her current role she plays the role of Bernadette Stewart mother of Green Lantern John Stewart for DC’s LANTERNS on HBO Max. The show has been a success critically and has been doing great numbers with good feedback from audiences globally, episode 3 is where Jasmine makes her debut in and the performance she puts in is spectacular displaying terrific nuances, difficulty in navigating raising her black son and really displaying that black experience as a parent, teacher with power, integrity and balance, she is a force of nature in the role and is already gaining Emmy nomination buzz along with her scene partner J. Alphonse Nicholson who plays John Stewart Sr her husband in the origin story episode. Jasmine Cephas Jones completely deserves to have the spotlight shined on her. And the beautiful writing courtesy of Writer Vanessa Baden Kelly who brought great authenticity to the episode and the show.
