The Sunday Film Club shines the spotlight on Gionna Daddio aka Liv Morgan a young fiery WWE wrestler from New Jersey who came from a working class family of Italian heritage, whom got signed by WWE as a 19 year old and started training under their development programme named NXT. After a decade of application, hard work, ups and downs to rise to the top of the industry, not just succeed but flourish outside the industry and is slowly claiming notoriety, she starred in a few episodes of horror comedy series Chucky, a small role opposite Uma Thurman and Samuel L. Jackson followed in Kill Room (2023) and then she would go on to star in a Japanese, action-thriller Bad Lieutenant (2026) which she shot in Tokyo, Japan in the summer of 2025 opposite Lily James and Shun Oguri. She has always had the potential to go beyond wrestling into film and she has an uncanny, striking resemblance to a young Michelle Pfeiffer, something she has mentioned in a few good interviews. She is currently in a faction/group named The Judgement Day, which includes her best friend in and out of wrestling Raquel Rodriguez, Roxanne Perez, ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh.

Below is a music video that was created for Liv Morgan (Gionna Daddio) to promote her character for her main even wrestling match at wrestling’s biggest spectacle, the equivalent of the world cup, superbowl, World Series for wrestling Wrestlemania 42 which took take place in Las Vegas Nevada at the Allegiance stadium in front of 106,072 people on the weekend of April 19th-19th 2026 as a 2 day event and shown live on Netflix worldwide. She also participated in one of actor and former wrestlers John Cena’s last matches, now the question is can she be the first major female wrestler to fully translate to become a superstar on to the small and big screen as a actor.

In a recent interview with magazine Paper, Liv (Morgan) talked about growing up being a wrestling fan and more (below):

Liv Morgan takes you behind the scenes in preparation for WrestleMania in Las Vegas, featuring family, friends and colleagues. You can watch it on the WWE YouTube Channel.

Liv Morgan (Gionna Jene Daddio)

‘ So I grew up with four older brothers, and so I was very much a tomboy growing up. Anything my brothers loved, I naturally loved. I spent a lot of time hanging out with my brothers, and they introduced me to WWE when I was five years old. I had never seen anything like that, ever. I really loved watching the women. There were these strong, powerful women who were wrestling with the boys. They were wearing baggy pants and sneakers. And that just really resonated with me.

That was my dream growing up. It wasn’t to be a ballerina, it wasn’t to be a teacher, it wasn’t to get married; it was to be a WWE superstar. Following through on that and changing my life and my family’s life has been the biggest blessing. Like, I’m eternally grateful. ‘ – PAPER Magazine
